What this is
Synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid actin-regulating peptide found throughout the body.
Two names, one product, and the distinction is worth getting right because it causes constant confusion. Thymosin beta-4 is the full 43-amino-acid peptide, present in most tissues, best known for binding actin. TB-500 is the shorter synthetic fragment derived from it — the active region, isolated. Suppliers routinely use the two names interchangeably. We list both on the label so there is no ambiguity about which molecule is in the vial.
Actin is the protein that builds the cellular cytoskeleton — the scaffolding a cell rearranges when it changes shape or moves. Thymosin beta-4's defining property is that it binds monomeric actin, which is why the research literature around it is dominated by cell-migration questions rather than by any one tissue type.
This is the 10mg vial. There is also a 5mg vial of the same compound.
Research profile
Studied in cell-migration and tissue-repair research, frequently alongside BPC-157, as a model for actin-binding and angiogenic pathways.
Two threads dominate:
Actin-binding. This is the mechanistic core. Research uses the peptide as a probe for how actin availability influences cytoskeletal reorganisation — a fundamental cell-biology question that touches migration, shape change and division.
Angiogenic pathways. A second, related line of work investigates vascular signalling. Cells that migrate need somewhere to migrate to; the two questions travel together in the literature.
The phrase "frequently alongside BPC-157" is a statement about co-publication, not about combined effect. Those two compounds appear in the same tissue-repair papers more often than either appears with anything else, which is why we sell them co-formulated in the BPC-157 + TB500 blend and why TB-500 is in both the GLOW and KLOW blends.
